Japanese Language Expert – Visa Services (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are seeking a proficient Japanese Language Expert to join our Visa Application / Client Services team in Kathmandu. The role involves supporting Japanese‑speaking clients throughout the visa application process, ensuring clear communication in Japanese, English and, where possible, Nepali.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with clients in Japanese and English regarding visa procedures, requirements and service queries.
• Assist Japanese‑speaking applicants throughout the visa process, providing accurate information based on established procedures.
• Review and verify application forms and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
• Translate or interpret documents and communications between Japanese, English and Nepali when required.
• Handle client queries via face‑to‑face, telephone, email and other channels.
• Explain application procedures, document requirements, appointment processes and service guidelines clearly.
• Maintain accurate records of applications, client interactions and related documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to resolve client queries and application issues.
• Ensure confidentiality of client information and compliance with SOPs, data‑protection and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language, Japanese Studies, Business Administration, Management, Humanities or related field.
• Mandatory JLPT N1 or N2 certification.
• Strong written and spoken Japanese and English skills; Nepali language proficiency is a plus.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Japanese language roles, customer service, visa/travel services, translation or international client support.
• Fresh graduates with JLPT N1/N2 and excellent communication may be considered.
