Business Development Intern

About the role

Netly AI, an early‑stage AI/ML startup, is seeking a curious, people‑oriented intern to help identify and qualify business opportunities. You will engage with prospective customers, understand their goals and challenges, and communicate Netly’s offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Research organizations and potential customers whose needs may align with Netly’s AI/ML products and services.
• Conduct customer discovery calls, ask useful questions, listen actively, and uncover workflows, pain points, requirements, and buying considerations.
• Explain AI/ML concepts and Netly’s offerings in clear, accurate language, building enough technical vocabulary to discuss models, data, APIs, integrations, deployment, and product limitations.
• Adapt communication to different audiences, building rapport with empathy, curiosity, professionalism, and strong emotional intelligence.
• Send timely, personalized follow‑ups; keep notes and next steps organized; maintain a clear prospect pipeline.
• Qualify potential leads, coordinate product or technical follow‑up with the team, and share customer insights to inform product and service development.

Required profile

• Strong spoken and written communication skills, reliability, and initiative.
• Comfort with outreach and customer conversations; willingness to learn technical concepts.
• Prior sales or AI/ML experience is helpful but not required.
